Ford has revealed a facelifted version of the Focus ST hot hatch that we have all come to know and love.
The 2015 Focus ST stands out from the current model thanks to a new front fascia with tasteful blacked-out headlights, a smaller hexagonal (Read: Aston Martin-style) grille with plastic mesh inserts and rectangular fog lights. In the rear we see slimmer tail lamps and an updated bumper, while a new paint colour and standard 18-inch allow wheels round out the exterior revisions.
Inside, we see some minor changes such as a much neater centre console, as well as a three-spoke flat-bottomed steering wheel, a faster USB charging port and now a standard rear-view camera. Optional trim levels will come with Recaro buket seats, and buyers can order a heated steering wheel for those winter days, and an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat at an extra cost of course.
Ford has not made any changes under the hood of the ST, meaning the hot hatch will still carry the turbocharged 2.0-litre EcoBoost engine that makes a respectable 252-horsepower at 5,500 rpms and 270 lb-ft of torque at 2,500 rpms when sipping on 93-octane fuel. Power is of course sent to the front wheels via a smooth six-speed manual transmission.
Ford has also stated new suspension components on both axles and a revised electric power steering system should improve how the Focus rides.
The 2015 Ford Focus ST willl be availabe in ST1, ST2 and ST3 trim levels. Pricing information will likely be released closer to the hot hatch’s on-sale date.
